Tour de Suisse

On the 22 of April 2020 the Tour de Suisse went online. The Tour de Suisse was a cycling race around Switzerland but because of the current circumstances the race around Switzerland was cancelled. Luckily the organisers of the Tour de Suisse had already thought through an event like covid 19 happening, therefore the race would be taking place in the racers' own homes.

The participants were from all over the world including New Zealand with 200 participants racing in total. Although there was a slight problem with people who were sponsored with other esport programs like Zwift, and with some people not wanting to race at all because of it being online. The scenery isn't the real thing and the graphics are pretty bad. It still is the same landscape and probably the same difficulty as it would be in real life.

Like I said earlier in this document how people wouldn't participate because they were sponsored or didn’t like the sound of cycling online those were just some bad things about esports. Esports have a lot of good and bad but when it comes to the bad it can either be really bad or mild. For example people could be looking at a screen for a long amount of time maybe causing a lack of sleep so when they wake up to go again it could ruin their sleep schedule for a week but I'm just guessing.

The good things about esports however is that you can do what you love in the comfort of your home. You could also socialise with your team or friends if it's that type of sport. Or you can get a lot of exercise in cycling and a lot of other esports.

In conclusion I think esports are good to socialise as you meet people from all over the world and its healthy for your body and fun.
