beach cookout

On Wednesday the third of April room one and eight went to karoro beach next to the tasman sea.Room one and eight were split into teams to make the food my team consisted of Callan Sam Grace and Wairini. At school we had decided on steak and potatoes with banana split, chocolate sauce and mini marshmallows. To make the food the ingredients were bananas, mini marshmallows, potatoes and raw steak. First we split into groups in our team one had to find some wood and stones for the fire while the other group had to peel the potatoes and put them in tin foil. When we finished preparing the food we lit the fire with matches. Our team put a tray on the fire and then started cooking the steak. While the steak was cooking everyone was peeling the potatoes and putting them in tinfoil to stop them from burning.when we put them on and under the tray. When the potatoes were peeled and in tinfoil we put them under the tray and on top of the tray. 20 minutes later the steak and potatoes were cooked so we cut the potatoes into rectangular shapes and ate them with the steak. After we had eaten the steak and potatoes we put the bananas on the tray to cook. Five minutes after we had put the bananas on the tray they were cooked enough to eat so we put the chocolate sauce and the mini marshmallows in the middle of the banana where we cut. Once we had finished eating we collected water and poured it over the fire, once everyone's fire was out we packed up and walked back to karoro school.
